My name is Julie Gray McCreight, and I am a dedicated and passionate educator with 30 years of experience in the field of education. Currently, I serve as a 7-12 Theatre, Speech and Forensics teacher at Flinthills High School in Rosalia, Kansas, where I am passionate about inspiring students in all areas of Communication. My daily aspirations include developing skills, confidence and expression in our students' ability to present themselves.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Oklahoma City University where I acquired thorough instruction in Theatre, Music and Dance. I furthered my education by earning a Teacher's Certificate for 7-12 Theatre and Speech. I also completed my Master's Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Theatre from Wichita State University. This provided me with advanced strategies for introducing, implementing and assuring students' future use of solid communication skills.

Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my comprehensive and innovative teaching methods by being inducted into the Kansas Teacher Hall of Fame in 2023. I was named the USD 492 Teacher of the Year, and learned much from touring top schools in the state during the experience.

In the classroom, I strive to create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere where all students feel motivated and encouraged to achieve their best. I hold high expectations as I believe that students will rise to our belief of what they can achieve. Consequently, in 2024, our FHS Forensics Team placed 1st at the State Championship!

I am a member of the Educational Theatre Association, and promote the International Thespian Society to students as a vehicle for honoring students who have met the standards for membership and advancing their opportunities at the State and International levels.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three adult children: Javen, Jonathan and Savannah. We love spending time on our family ranch, travelling and playing games together. I love cooking, gardening, and learning new things.

I thoroughly enjoy my opportunity to teach students. I adore the moments when they accomplish things they never thought they could.
